The Dallas Stars weren’t able to play spoilers Saturday night, falling to the Detroit Red Wings 3-0 at American Airlines Center Saturday night. The Red Wings clinched a playoff spot with the victory. Henrik Zetterberg led the Detroit attack with two goals and one assist.
Richard Bachman stopped 34 of 37 shots for the Stars, who ended the season on a five game winless streak (0-4-1) and finished with a 22-22-4 record.
It was a fast paced first period with plenty of scoring chances for both teams. The only goal came with 1:43 remaining when Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg shook off a hit from Brenden Dillon and scored when his centering pass bounced off traffic and past Stars goaltender Richard Bachman.
