The Dallas Stars had a 4-2 lead in Nashville Monday night, but they couldn’t hold it. The Predators rallied to tie the game in regulation and then won it on Roman Josi’s goal 28 seconds into overtime. Matt Fraser, Reilly Smith, Vernon Fiddler and Loui Eriksson scored for the Stars. Michael Ryder had three assists. Cristopher Nilstorp stopped 26 of 31 shots for the Stars, who are 9-8-2 on the season.
Stars continue to score, but give up goals, too
The Stars have now scored three goals or more in ten straight games, and eleven of their last 12. This is the first time the Stars have had a streak of three or more goals in ten straight games since Nov. 21-Dec. 15, 2001.
Keeping the puck out of the net has been a different matter. The Stars gave allowed four goals or more in four of their last six games, and are 2-3-1 during that stretch.
The Stars had a 4-2 lead in the second period, but unsportsmanlike penalties on Eric Nystrom and Vernon Fiddler turned into a five-on-three power play for Nashville, which scored on the two-man advantage to cut the lead to 4-3 and get back in the game.
