The Dallas Stars opened their four-game homestand with a 4-0 loss to the Nashville Predators Tuesday evening. It was the second straight loss for the Stars, who fell to 12-11-2 on the season. Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne stopped 32 shots for his fifth shutout of the season. The Predators improved to 11-9-6.
Stars fall to .500 at home
Tuesdays’ loss dropped the Stars to a .500 points percentage at home on the season (5-5-1). The Stars have lost four of their last six (2-4-0) at American Airlines Center. Nashville, meanwhile, snapped a six-game road winless streak with their victory.
Predators win special teams battle
Nashville took the special teams battle Tuesday, scoring two times on four power play chances and once on a penalty shot. The Stars went 0-4 on the power play.
