Here’s an update on how Dallas Stars prospects playing in Europe, juniors and colleges fared over the past week.


*LW Roope Hintz (second round/2015) picked up two assists as HIFK won the first two games of its best-of-seven quarterfinal series with the Lahti Pelicans. Hintz has been centering the second line and has won 7 of 11 faceoffs (63.6 percent) in two games.

*D Aleksi Makela (seventh round/2013) had no points and a plus-two rating as Ilves won its best-of-three playoff series in Finnish juniors to advance onto the next round.

*D Miro Karjalainen (fifth round/2014) had no points in three games for Kiekko-Vantaa, which is down 3-0 in its best-of-seven playoff series in Finland’s second highest league.

*D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) didn’t record any points in three games as HV 71 fell behind 3-0 to Skellefteå in the quarterfinals of the Swedish Hockey League playoffs. Hansson has no points and a plus-one rating in five playoff games.

*D John Nyberg (sixth round/2014) picked up two assists in two games, but Frolunda was eliminated from the Swedish junior playoffs by AIK. Nyberg had three assists in three playoff games for Frolunda’s junior team.


*D Joseph Cecconi (fifth round/2015) had no points in two games as Michigan won the Big Ten tournament over the weekend. Michigan plays Notre Dame in the NCAA Midwest Regional this weekend. Cecconi has 7 assists in 36 games.


*D Aaron Haydon (sixth round/2014) had no points in two games for Niagara over the past week. Haydon finished the regular season with 17 points (5 goals, 12 assists) and a plus-22 rating in 65 games. Up next for Haydon and Niagara is Ottawa in the first round of the OHL Playoffs.

*D Chris Martenet (fourth round/2015) did not record any points in three games for London. Martenet finished the regular season with 12 points (3 goals, 9 assists) and ranked sixth in the OHL with a plus-44 rating. London will play Owen Sound in the first round of the OHL playoffs.

*D Patrick Sanvido (seventh round/2014) had no points in three games for Windsor to finish the season with 10 points (1 goal, 9 assists) and a plus-21 rating in 49 games. Windsor will play Kitchener in the first round of the playoffs.

*D Alex Peters (third round/2014) had no points in one game for Flint. Peters finished the season with 12 points (1 goal, 11 assists) in 55 games. Flint did not qualify for the OHL playoffs.

*G Brent Moran (fourth round/2014) played one game for Flint, stopping 16 of 21 shots in 30 minutes of playing time. Moran, who played for both Flint and Niagara, finished the season 13-25-4 with a 3.86 goals-against average and .881 save percentage.


*RW Denis Gurianov (first round/2015) registered 5 points (4 goals, 1 assist) in 47 games with Lada Togliatti in the KHL. Recorded 6 points (4 goals, 2 assists) in 7 games in Russian juniors.

*D Michael Prapavessis (fourth round/2014) registered 18 points (4 goals, 14 assists) in 40 games with RPI in college hockey, leading the team in defenseman scoring.

*D Troy Vance (fifth round/2011) registered 19 points (3 goals, 16 assists) in 59 games with Assat in Finland’s top league.

*G Markus Ruusu (sixth round/2015) had a 3.09 goals-against average and .900 save percentage with JYP-Akatemia in Finland’s second highest league. Posted a 3.99 goals-against average and .886 save percentage with JYP in Finnish juniors.

*G Henri Kiviaho (fifth round/2012) posted a 2.76 goals-against average and .903 save percentage in Finland’s top league. Had a 3.28 goals-against average and .889 save percentage with LeKi in Finland’s second highest league.
