Here’s an update on how Dallas Stars prospects playing in Europe, juniors and colleges fared over the past week.


*LW Roope Hintz (second round/2015) had a big week, recording four goals and one assist in two games as HIFK closed out the regular season with the best record in Finland’s top league. Hintz scored three goals in a 7-0 victory over Assat in the next to last game of the season and then tallied one goal in the regular season finale. Hintz finished the regular season with 20 points (8 goals, 12 assists) in 33 games. Up next for Hintz and HIFK is the postseason.

*D Troy Vance (fifth round/2011) had no points in two games for Assat in Finland’s top league over the past week. Vance finished the season with 19 points (3 goals, 16 assists) in 59 games.

*D Aleksi Makela (seventh round/2013) had no points in two games for Ilves in Finland’s top league. Makela finished the season with two assists in 42 games for Ilves.

*G Henri Kiviaho (fifth round/2012) started one game for Ilves in Finland’s top league. Kiviaho stopped 22 of 25 shots in a 3-1 loss to KooKoo. Kiviaho finished the regular season in the top league with a 2.76 goals-against average and .903 save percentage in 19 appearances.

*G Markus Ruusu (sixth round/2015) started one game in Finnish juniors over the past week, stopping 27 of 28 shots as JYP defeated Sport, 2-1. Ruusu has been alternating between juniors and Finland’s second highest league this season.

*D Miro Karjalainen (fifth round/2014) did not play last week.

*D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) did not register any points in two games as HV 71 swept a best-of-three series to advance to the quarterfinals of the Swedish Hockey League playoffs. Hansson played one regular season game last week as well, registering no points. He finished the regular season with 22 points (7 goals, 15 assists) in 44 games, tying for 12th in defenseman scoring in the SHL.

*D John Nyberg (sixth round/2014) had no points in two qualification round games for Oskarshamn in Sweden’s second highest league, finishing the round with no points in five games. Nyberg finished the regular season with 9 points (1 goal, 8 assists) in 46 games.


*D Aaron Haydon (sixth round/2014) registered 5 points (2 goals, 3 assists) and a plus-5 rating in three games for Niagara over the past week. Haydon registered 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) in a 9-2 win over North Bay on Saturday. Haydon has 17 points (5 goals, 12 assists) and a plus-21 rating) in 63 games.

*D Chris Martenet (fourth round/2015) had no points and a plus-4 rating in three games for London. Martenet has 12 points (3 goals, 9 assists) in 64 games and ranks fourth in the OHL with a plus-47 rating.

*D Patrick Sanvido (seventh round/2014) picked up two assists in two games for Windsor, giving him 10 points (1 goal, 9 assists) in 46 games.

*D Alex Peters (third round/2014) registered one assist in two games for Flint over the past week. Peters has 12 points (1 goal, 11 assists) in 54 games.

*G Brent Moran (fourth round/2014) made two appearances for Flint over the past week, stopping 44 of 50 shots and going 0-1-0.


*D Michael Prapavessis (fourth round/2014) had no points in two games as RPI was swept by Harvard in a best-of-three ECAC quarterfinal series. Prapavessis finished the season with 18 points (4 goals, 14 assists) in 40 games, leading the team in defenseman scoring.

*D Joseph Cecconi (fifth round/2015) had no points in two games as Michigan closed out the regular season with two wins against Penn State. Cecconi has 7 assists in 34 games for Michigan. Up next for the Wolverines and Cecconi is the Big Ten Tournament.


*RW Denis Gurianov (first round/2015) registered 5 points (4 goals, 1 assist) in 47 games with Lada Togliatti in KHL. Recorded 6 points (4 goals, 2 assists) in 7 games in Russian juniors.
