Gurianov has now gone back to Russian juniors, where he played one game last week and registered one assist and six shots on goal. He has 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) in 4 games in juniors this season.

*LW Roope Hintz (second round/2015) registered one assist in three games over the past week for HIFK in Finland’s top league. Hintz has 13 points (3 goals, 10 assists) in 26 games and is averaging 14:12 of ice time.

*G Markus Ruusu (sixth round/2015) lost his only start last week in Finland’s second highest league, stopping 29 of 30 shots in JYP-Akatemia’s 2-0 loss to Hokki. Ruusu has put up impressive numbers recently, posting a 1.98 goals-against average and .933 save percentage over his past six games.

*D Aleksi Makela (seventh round/2013) did not pick up any points in three games for Ilves in Finland’s top league. He played a season-high 20:15 on Saturday. Makela has one assist in 34 games.

*G Henri Kiviaho (fifth round/2012) went 1-1-1 for Ilves in Finland’s top league last week. Kiviaho is 3-7-1 with a 2.49 goals-against average and .916 save percentage in the top league this season.

*D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) picked up one assist in three games for HV 71 in Sweden’s top league over the past week. Hansson has 21 points (6 goals, 15 assists) in 37 games. He ranks 11th in scoring among league defensemen despite missing eight games due to injury.

*D John Nyberg (sixth round/2014) is back with Oskarshamn in Sweden’s second-highest league. He’s played three games since returning from a stint in the top league, picking up no points. He has 7 points (1 goal, 6 assists) in 42 games with Oskarshamn.

*LW Brett Pollock (second round/2014) registered five points (three goals, two assists) in four games for Edmonton over the past week. Pollock has 63 points (23 goals, 40 assists) in 60 games. The 63 points are a new WHL career-high for Pollock, who leads the Oil Kings in scoring.

*For the second time this season, off-ice chaos has surrounded D Alex Peters (third round/2014) and his Flint Firebirds. Flint made headlines earlier in the season when the team’s coach was fired after a win in November. The coach was reinstated after players threatened to walk out. Last week, the coach was fired again, and an interim coach was named. This time, the OHL stepped in and suspended the team’s owner and named its own interim coach.

“It's a surprise," Peters, who is the captain of the Firebirds, told mlive.com. “I know our team is ready for anything. We've dealt with this once before so, now that it's happening again, we're getting some experience.”

Players are not talking about a walk out this time and are hoping the OHL can handle the situation.

“It was a different situation this time," Peters told mlive.com. "Last time, it was after a game and there was a lot of emotion involved. There was a lot of - I wouldn't say drama - publicity. This time, we kind of had more time and thought it over and thought of the best way to do it.”

As for hockey, Peters had no points in four games. He has 9 points (1 goal, 8 assists) in 46 games.

*G Brent Moran (fourth round/2014) also plays for Flint. He was 1-2-0 over the past week, stopping 100 of 111 shots.

*D Chris Martenet (fourth round/2015) recorded no points in two games for London over the past week. Martenet has 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) in 55 games and ranks fifth in the OHL with a plus-37 rating.

*D Aaron Haydon (sixth round/2014) had no points in three games for Niagara. Haydon has 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists) in 54 games.

*D Patrick Sanvido (seventh round/2014) had no points in four games for Windsor. Sanvido has 7 points (1 goal, 6 assists) in 38 games.

*D Joseph Cecconi (fifth round/2015) picked up an assist in the University of Michigan’s 5-2 over Ferris State over the weekend. Cecconi, a freshman, has 7 assists and a plus-16 rating in 28 games.

*D Michael Prapavessis (fourth round/2014) registered one assist in two games for RPI. Prapavessis, a sophomore, has 14 points (3 goals, 11 assists) in 34 games.
