Here’s an update on how Dallas Stars prospects playing this season in juniors, Europe and college fared over the past week.


Europe

* D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, as HV 71 defeated Djurgarden, 4-3, in the Swedish Hockey League Saturday. Hansson also picked up an assist in the game. Hansson, who is in his first season in Sweden’s top league, currently ranks eighth among all defensemen in scoring with seven points (two goals, five assists) in ten games and leads the league in average ice time at 23:32 per game.

*D John Nyberg (sixth round/2014) was scoreless in two games in Sweden’s second-highest league. Nyberg has four points (one goal, three assists) in 14 games.

*RW Denis Gurianov (first round/2015) had no points in two games over the past week in the KHL. Gurianov has had some good scoring chances recently and, despite missing eight games due to being with the national junior team and injury, the 18-yearold still ranks seventh on his team in shots on goal.

*LW Roope Hintz (second round/2015) remains out with a back injury, but he is getting closer to a return.

*D Aleksi Makela (seventh round/2013) played one game in Finland’s top league, registering no points in 12:55 of ice time. Makela has played two games in the top league this season.

*D Miro Karjalainen (fifth round/2014) picked up one assist in two games for HIKF in Finnish junior hockey, giving him five points (one goal, four assists) in seven games this season.

*D Troy Vance (fifth round/2011) had no points in three games for Assat in Finland’s top league. Vance has three assists in 14 games and currently ranks second in the league in average ice time at 25:10 per game.

*G Henri Kiviaho (fifth round/2012) played one game last week in Finland’s second highest league, stopping 20 of 24 shots in Leki’s 4-3 shootout loss to SaPKo. He also got a relief appearance with Ilves in Finland’s top league, stopping all eight shots he faced in 26 minutes of playing time.

*G Markus Ruusu (sixth round/2015) played two games last week in Finnish juniors. He was pulled early in the second period in the first game after allowing four goals on nine shots, but in the second game he stopped 41 of 44 shots in a victory for JYP.


WHL

*LW Brett Pollock (second round/2014) extended his points streak to five games, picking up one goal and two assists in three games over the past week for Edmonton. Pollock has ten points (three goals, seven assists) in ten games and is tied for the team lead in scoring.


OHL

*D Chris Martenet (fourth round/2015) registered two assists in three games over the past week for London of the OHL. Martenet has four assists in nine games this season and is tied for fourth in the league with a plus-ten rating.

*D Alex Peters (third round/2014) scored his first goal of the season Friday, tallying 1:28 into the first period of Flint’s 7-4 win over Ottawa.

*D Patrick Sanvido (seventh round/2014) remains out with a knee injury.

*D Aaron Haydon (sixth round/2014) had no points in three games for Niagara over the past week.

G Brent Moran (fourth round/2014) played two games over the past week, going 0-1-0 and stopping 30 of 37 shots.


NCAA

*D Michael Prapavessis (fourth round/2014) picked up two assists in RPI’s 4-3 loss to Alaska-Anchorage on Friday. Prapavessis, a sophomore, has two assists in four games.

*D Joseph Cecconi (fifth round/2015) made his college debut over the weekend, picking up no points and a plus-two rating in two games as Michigan took a pair of games from Mercyhurst.
