by Mark Stepneski / Dallas Stars

The NHL regular season gets underway this week, but Dallas Stars prospects playing in Europe and juniors already have started their seasons. Here’s the first of our weekly updates on Stars prospects.

RW Denis Gurianov missed the first eight games of the KHL season due to a shoulder injury, but since returning in the middle of September he has been a regular player in the lineup for Lada Togliatti. Gurianov, Dallas’ first-round pick (12th overall) in 2015, has registered one goal and one assist in eight games while averaging 11:42 of ice time per game. Gurianov, who has been playing on the second line recently, picked up his goal and assist in a 5-4 win over HC Sibir on Sept. 27. That performance earned Gurianov KHL Rookie of the Week Honors.
