The regular season is over in the OHL, WHL and QMJHL, and that means the playoffs are up next. Plus, postseason play continues in the European Leagues. Here’s an update on how Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors and the European leagues fared over the past week.

Ontario Hockey League

*C Jason Dickinson (first round/2013) scored two goals and chipped in an assist in three games for Guelph, finishing the regular season with 71 points (27 goals, 44 assists) in 56 games. Guelph will play Owen Sound in the first round of the OHL’s Western Conference Playoffs.

*LW Remi Elie (second round/2013) had one goal in two games for Erie over the past week. Elie finished the regular season with 76 points (30 goals, 46 assists) in 63 games with both Erie and Belleville. Erie opens the Western Conference Playoffs against Sarnia.

*D Aaron Haydon (sixth round/2014) had one assist in three games for Niagara, finishing the season with 25 points (eight goals, 17 assists) in 60 games. Niagara takes on Ottawa in round one of the OHL’s Eastern Conference Playoffs.

*G Brent Moran (fourth round/2014) won his only start last week, stopping 26 of 28 shots in Niagara’s 5-2 win over Mississauga. Moran ended the regular season with an 18-18-1 record, 3.46 goals-against average and .891 save percentage. He won 14 of his last 18 decisions (14-3-1). Again, Niagara takes on Ottawa in the first round of the playoffs.

*D Patrick Sanvido (seventh round/2014) had one assist in three games for Windsor. Sanvido finished the season with 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 59 games. Windsor failed to qualify for the playoffs.

*D Alex Peters (third round/2014) has been out since October due to a knee injury and surgery. He played just eight games for Plymouth and registered four assists. Plymouth failed to qualify for the playoffs.

Western Hockey League

*LW Cole Ully (fifth round/2013) registered five points (one goal, four assists) in three games for Kamloops over the past week. Ully finished the season ranked fifth in the WHL in scoring with 94 points (34 goals, 60 assists) in 69 games. Kamloops failed to make the playoffs. Ully likely will join the Texas Stars of the AHL. He may not play any games, but instead will get taste of the professional life and get familiar with the Texas organization.

*LW Brett Pollock (second round/2014) tallied one goal in two games for Edmonton. Pollock led the Oil Kings in scoring during the regular season with 62 points (32 goals, 30 assists) in 70 games. Edmonton takes on Brandon in the first round of the WHL’s Eastern Conference Playoffs.

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League

*G Philippe Desrosiers (second round/2013) went 3-0-0, including his fifth shutout of the season, over the past week as Rimouski secured the best overall record in the QMJHL. Desrosiers finished the season 29-9-3 and led the QMJHL with a 2.50 goals against average. His .901 save percentage ranked third in the league, and the 29 wins ranked fifth. Rimouski takes on Victoriaville in the first round of the QMJHL playoffs.

United States Hockey League

*RW Matej Paulovic (fifth round/2013) tallied one goal and one assist in Muskegon’s 4-2 win over Green Bay last week. Paulovic has 43 points (15 goals, 28 assists) in 45 games, ranking third on the team in scoring.


*C Mattias Janmark (trade/2015) assisted on the game-winning goal as Frolunda defeated Lulea 1-0 in overtime to force a game seven in the quarterfinals of the Swedish Hockey League playoffs. Game 7 is Tuesday. Janmark has two goals and one assist in six games.

*D Mattias Backman (trade/2015) did not register any points in two games for Linkoping in its SHL quarterfinal series against HV 71. Backman has no points in three games in the series, which Linkoping leads 3-2.

*D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) had one assist in two games for Rogle in its promotion round series against Vasteras. Rogle leads the best-of-seven series 2-0. Hansson has three assists in seven postseason games.

*LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) did not score in two games for Rogle in the series with Vasteras. Molin has four points (one goal, three assists) in seven postseason games.

*D John Nyberg (sixth round/2014) scored one goal – a shorthanded tally – in three games as Frolunda won its best-of-three series over Leksands to advance to the quarterfinals in the Swedish junior playoffs.

*D Dmitry Sinitsyn (seventh round/2012) played one game for Dynamo Moscow in the KHL playoffs last week, registering one shot on goal in 10:05 of ice time. Dynamo Moscow was eliminated from the playoffs.

Season completed

*D Ludwig Bystrom (second round/2012) – Swedish Hockey League. Now playing with Texas Stars (AHL).

*D Miro Karjalainen (fifth round/2014) – Finland juniors.

*D Esa Lindell (third round/2012) – Finnish Elite League. Now playing with Texas Stars (AHL).

*D Aleksi Makela (seventh round/2013) – Finnish Elite League.

*D Michael Prapavessis (fourth round/2014) – RPI/NCAA

*C Devin Shore (second round/2012) – University of Maine/NCAA. Now playing with Texas Stars (AHL).
