Dallas Stars defense prospect Esa Lindell is on a nice run in Finland’s top league. Lindell, Dallas’ third-round pick (74th overall) in the 2012 NHL draft, has registered points in seven of his last eight games for Assat.

The 20-year-old Lindell has tallied ten points (three goals, seven assists) during that stretch and ranks sixth among league defenseman with 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) in 34 games. He had five points (two goals, three assists) in 44 games in the top league last season.

Lindell leads the league in ice time this season, averaging 25:09 per game. He’s tied for fifth in the league with 207 shots on goal.

Here’s an update on other Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, the European leagues and U.S. colleges.

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League

*G Philippe Desrosiers (second round/2013) is 3-1-0 in his last four starts for Rimouski with a 1.92 goals against average, .937 save percentage and one shutout. Desrosiers is 17-7-2 and leads the QMJHL with a 2.58 goals against average.

Ontario Hockey League

*LW Remi Elie (second round/2013) was part of a significant trade in the OHL last week. The Erie Otters acquired Elie and Jake Marchment from Belleville in exchange for two players and six draft picks. Elie is now teammates with Connor McDavid, who is expected to go first overall in this summer’s NHL Draft. Elie, who remains under contract to Dallas, picked up three assists in his first three games with the Otters. He has 37 points (14 goals, 23 assists) in 38 OHL games this season.

*C Jason Dickinson (first round/2013) has points in five of his last six games for Guelph, registering three goals and six assists during that stretch. Dickinson has 34 points (13 goals, 21 assists) in 31 games.

*D Aaron Haydon (sixth round/2014) had no points in two games for Niagara this past weekend. Haydon has 17 points (seven goals, ten assists) in 39 games.

*G Brent Moran (fourth round/2014) won his only start over the past week for Niagara, stopping 25 of 29 shots in a 5-4 win over Sudbury on Friday. Moran is 8-15-0 with a 3.47 goals against average and .894 save percentage.

*D Patrick Sanvido (seventh round/2014) has picked up two assists in his past four games. Sanvido has seven assists in 40 games for Windsor.

*D Alex Peters (third round/2014) is out with a knee injury.

Western Hockey League

*LW Cole Ully (fifth round/2013) has tallied points in six of his past seven games, registering eight points (three goals, five assists) during that stretch. Ully is tied for fifth in the WHL in scoring with 54 points (19 goals, 35 assists) in 41 games.

*LW Brett Pollock (second round/2014) has picked up points in seven of his past eight games for Edmonton of the WHL, registering ten points (five goals, five assists) during that stretch. Pollock leads the Oil Kings in scoring with 39 points (18 goals, 21 assists) in 42 games.

United States Hockey League

*RW Matej Paulovic (fifth round/2013) returned to Muskegon of the USHL after helping Slovakia win a bronze medal at the World Junior Championship. He had to sit out Friday’s game due to a one-game suspension handed out last month for accumulating too many misconducts. He played Saturday and picked up a kneeing major and game misconduct in the third period of Muskegon’s 2-1 loss to Madison. Paulovic has 27 points (nine goals, 18 assists) in 26 games.


*D Aleksi Makela (seventh round/2013) returned from the World Junior Championship and picked up an assist in his first game back with Ilves of Finland’s top league. Makela has six assists in 21 games with Ilves.

*D Miro Karjalainen (fifth round/2014) is out with a knee injury.

*D Ludwig Bystrom (second round/2012) has not played in the past two games for Farjestad in Sweden’s top league. He has five points (one goal, four assists) in 23 games.

*D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) has tallied five assists over his last five games for Rogle in Sweden’s second highest league. Hansson has 20 points (two goals, 18 assists) in 38 games. He ranks second among junior players in the league in scoring.

*LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) has just one point – an assist – over his past 15 games for Rogle. Molin has six assists in 37 games.

*D John Nyberg (sixth round/2014) is now playing for Mora in Sweden’s second highest league. He has no points in four games.

*D Dmitry Sinitsyn (seventh round/2012) has been taken off the injured list by the KHL’s Moscow Dynamo but did not play over the past week.

U.S. College

*C Devin Shore (second round/2012) has points in five of his last six games for the University of Maine, registering one goal and eight assists during that stretch. Shore, a junior, has 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) in 22 games.

*D Michael Prapavessis (fourth round/2014) had no points in two games for RPI over the weekend. Prapavessis, a freshman, has four assists in 24 games.
