Jason Dickinson and Remi Elie tallied goals in the Subway Super Series and Brett Pollock is on a roll in the Western Hockey League. Here’s an update on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, the European leagues and U.S. colleges.
Subway Super Series
Forwards Jason Dickinson (first round/2013) and Remi Elie (second round/2013) both scored a goal as Team OHL defeated Russia, 5-1, in the Subway Super Series last week. Dickinson scored on the power play to give the OHL a 3-0 lead early in the second period. Elie scored at even-strength midway through the game to extend the OHL’s lead to 5-0.
Goaltender Philippe Desrosiers (second round/2013) started for Team QMJHL in the final game of the Super Series, stopping 18 of 21 shots as the QMJHL lost, 3-2, to Russia.
Russia won four of six games in the series, which featured All-Star teams from the WHL, OHL and QMJHL playing against a team of junior players from Russia.
Western Hockey League
*LW Brett Pollock (second round/2014) tallied five goals and two assists in four games over the past week. Friday night, he scored three goals in a 53-second span in Edmonton’s 7-4 loss to Brandon. Pollock scored with 46 seconds left in the first period, again with 15 seconds remaining in the first and then completed his hat trick seven seconds into the second period. Pollock, who is on a six-game points streak (six goals, seven assists), has 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists) in 24 games.
*LW Cole Ully (fifth round/2013) registered five points (three goals, two assists) in three games for Kamloops over the past week. Ully has 33 points (12 goals, 21 assists) in 23 games and is tied for fourth in the WHL in scoring.
Ontario Hockey League
*LW Remi Elie (second round/2013) picked up three assists in three games for Belleville over the past week. Elie leads the Bulls in scoring with 29 points (11 goals, 18 assists) in 24 games.
*C Jason Dickinson (first round/2013) registered one assist in two games with Guelph. Dickinson has 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 17 games.
*D Aaron Haydon (sixth round/2014) registered one goal and one assist in two games for Niagara, giving him seven points (three goals, four assists) in 22 games.
*G Brent Moran (fourth round/2014) lost his only start of the week, stopping 30 of 32 shots in Niagara’s 2-1 loss to Plymouth. Moran is 4-13-0 this season with a 3.20 goals against average and .906 save percentage.
*D Patrick Sanvido (seventh round/2014) had no points in three games for Windsor. Sanvido has three assists in 22 games.
*D Alex Peters (third round/2014) remains out with a knee injury.
Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
*G Philippe Desrosiers (second round/2013) made one start this week, stopping nine of 13 shots and getting pulled midway through Rimouski’s 8-2 loss to Halifax. Desrosiers is 10-5-1 with a 2.70 goals against average and .891 save percentage.
United States Hockey League
*RW Matej Paulovic (fifth round/2013) tallied three goals in two games for Muskegon of the USHL over the past week. Paulovic, who is on a four-game points streak (four goals, two assists), has 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in 18 games.
*D Esa Lindell (third round/2012) scored his fourth goal of the season for Assat in Finland’s top league. Lindell has 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 21 games. He is tied for fifth in goal scoring among league defensemen and ranks fourth in ice time at 24:43 per game.
*D Aleksi Makela (seventh round/2013) played one game for Ilves in Finland’s top league last week and did not factor in the scoring. He has five assists in 11 games.
*D Miro Karjalainen (fifth round/2014) remains out due to illness.
*D Ludwig Bystrom (second round/2012) had no points in three games for Farjestad in Sweden’s top league. Bystrom has one assist in 14 games.
*D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) had no points in two games for Rogle in Sweden’s second highest league. Hansson also had a goal changed to an assist from last week, so he now has 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) in 25 games.
*LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) did not register a point in two games for Rogle last week. He has five assists in 21 games.
*D John Nyberg (sixth round/2014) played two games for Frolunda in junior hockey over the past week, picking up one assist. He has nine points (three goals, six assists) in 13 junior games this season.
*D Dmitry Sinitsyn (seventh round/2012) notched his first assist with Dynamo Moscow of the KHL last week. Sinitsyn has one assist in five games played.
*C Devin Shore (second round/2012) had one assist in two games for the University of Maine over the weekend. Shore, a junior, has seven points (four goals, three assists) in 13 games.
*D Michael Prapavessis (fourth round/2014) had no points in one game for RPI over the weekend. Prapavessis, a freshman, has two assists in 13 games.
