Here’s an update on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, the European leagues and U.S. colleges.
Ontario Hockey League
*C Jason Dickinson (first round/2013) was named captain of the Guelph Storm last week. Dickinson is in his fourth year with the Storm.
"Ever since we've been here he just comes to the rink and works," Storm coach Scott Walker told the Guelph Mercury. "I think he deserves it because he's one of those guys that never asks or says too much, he just comes to work."
"My kind of style would be more lead-by-example style,” Dickinson told the Mercury. “Play the way I play and have guys follow in my footsteps instead of getting in their face and being a loud, vocal guy. … It's another opportunity for me to show what I can do and how I can be a leader."
Dickinson picked up one assist in one game for Guelph last week, giving him five points (two goals, three assists) in three games.
*LW Remi Elie (second round/2013) registered one goal and one assist in two games this past week for the Belleville Bulls. Elie has nine points (five goals, four assists) in seven games, and is tied for seventh in the league in goal scoring.
*D Alex Peters (third round/2014) picked up two assists in two games for the Plymouth Whalers. Peters has registered four assists in seven games this season.
*D Aaron Haydon (sixth round/2014) picked up his first point of the season, registering an assist in Niagara’s 8-5 loss to Belleville on Saturday. Haydon has one assist in six games this season.
*D Patrick Sanvido (seventh round/2014) had no points in two games for Windsor over the past week. Sanvido has registered one assist in six games.
*G Brent Moran (fourth round/2014) lost both his starts last week, including a 1-0 decision to Kingston Sunday in which he stopped 28 of 29 shots. Moran is 0-5-0 with a 2.84 goals against average and .906 save percentage.
Western Hockey League
*LW Cole Ully (fifth round/2013) had no points in two games for Kamloops of the WHL over the past week. Ully has 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in ten games.
*LW Brett Pollock (second round/2014) and the Edmonton Oil Kings did not play last week.
Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
*G Philippe Desrosiers (second round/2013) lost his first game of the season, giving up five goals on 14 shots in Rimouski’s 5-2 loss to Quebec on Sunday. Desrosiers is 4-1-0 with a 2.81 goals against average and .880 save percentage this season.
United States Hockey League
*RW Matej Paulovic (fifth round/2013) did not register any points in two games for Muskegon over the past week. Paulovic has four assists in seven games.
*D John Nyberg (sixth round/2014) notched a hat trick in Frolunda’s 6-4 victory over Tingsryds in Swedish junior hockey. Nyberg has six points (three goals, three assists) in five junior games this season.
*D Ludwig Bystrom (second round/2012) returned to the Swedish Hockey League after a three-game loan to Timra in Sweden’s second highest league. Bystrom played two games with Farjestad of the SHL last week, registering one assist. Bystrom played 18:38 in his first game back and 21:24 in the second game.
*D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) registered one assist in two games for Rogle in Sweden’s second highest league, the HockeyAllsvenskan. Hansson leads all junior players in the league in scoring with seven points (one goal, six assists) in 12 games.
*LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) picked up one assist in two games for Rogle in the HockeyAllsvenskan. Molin has four assists in eleven games.
*D Esa Lindell (third round/2012) did not score in three games with Assat in Finland’s top league this past week. Lindell ranks seventh in the league in ice time at 23:35 per game. He has two points (one goal, one assist) in nine games.
*D Aleksi Makela (seventh round/2013) registered two assists in two games for Ilves in Finland’s top league. Makela has two assists in three games played for Ilves.
*D Dmitry Sinitsyn (seventh round/2012) notched two assists in two games for Dynamo Balashikha of Russia’s VHL. Sinitsyn has seven points (two goals, five assists) in eleven games.
*C Devin Shore (second round/2012) scored one goal in two games as the University of Maine opened its season with a pair of losses.
*D Michael Prapavessis (fourth round/2014) picked up no points in his first two games with RPI over the weekend. RPI went 1-1-0 in its first weekend of the season.
