Here’s an update on Dallas Stars prospects who are still playing in juniors, college and Europe. The playoffs got underway in the OHL, WHL and QMJHL this past week and postseason play continued in college hockey and Europe.

*C/LW Gemel Smith (fourth round/2012) scored a goal and assisted on two others as London defeated Windsor, 6-3, in the first game of the Ontario Hockey League series between the two teams. Smith was named the first star of the game. Smith picked up an assist in the second game of the best-of-seven series, which London leads 2-0.

*C Jason Dickinson (first round/2013) scored the game-winning goal as Guelph defeated Plymouth, 5-2, in game one of its first round playoff series in the OHL. Guelph leads the series 2-0.

*C Radek Faksa (first round/2012) registered two assists in two games for Sudbury of the OHL in its first round series against Barrie, which leads the series 2-0.

*LW Nick Paul (fourth round/2013) has one goal in two playoff games for North Bay of the OHL. North Bay and Niagara are tied 1-1 in their first round series.

*RW Cody Payne scored one goal in two playoff games for Saginaw of the OHL. Saginaw trails Erie 2-0 in its first round series.

*RW Branden Troock (fifth round/2012) scored the game-winning goal as Seattle defeated Everett, 3-1, in game two of the Western Hockey League’s quarterfinal series. Troock has one goal and one assist in the best-of-seven series, which Seattle leads 2-0.

*Mike Winther (second round/2012) recorded one assist in two playoff games for Calgary of the WHL. Calgary and Kootenay are tied 1-1 in the first round series.

*D Dmitry Sinitsyn (seventh round/2012) had no points in two games for Regina, which trails Brandon 2-0 in its first round series in the WHL.

*G Philippe Desrosiers (second round/2013) stopped 30 of 34 shots over two games as Rimouski took a 2-0 lead in its best-of-seven playoff series with Chicoutimi in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

*D Troy Vance (fifth round/2011) registered two assists in two playoff games for Charlottetown, which trails Halifax 2-0 in the first round of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoffs.

*D John Klingberg (fifth round/2010) has three assists in five games for Frolunda in the Swedish Hockey League playoffs. Frolunda leads Linkopings 3-2 in the first round series, which is best-of-seven. Klingberg ranks fourth in average ice time in the playoffs at 23:52 per game.

*D Ludwig Bystrom (second round/2012) has no points in two games for Farjestad in the SHL playoffs. Bystrom missed two games due to illness. Farjestad leads Brynas 3-1 in the first round series.

*LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) recorded three points (two goals, one assist) in four games for Rogle as it plays in the qualification round-robin series for the Swedish Hockey League. Rogle currently sits in second place through four games. Molin has five points (two goals, three assists) in eight postseason games for Rogle.

*D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) registered three points (one goal, two assists) in four games for Rogle in the SHL qualification round-robin series. Hanson has six points (one goal, five assists) in 10 postseason games for Rogle.

*LW Alex Guptill (third round/2010) had no points as the University of Michigan was knocked out of the Big Ten Tournament by Penn State. Michigan did not receive a bid to the NCAA tournament. Guptill, a junior, ended the season with 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists) in 31 games.

*LW Matej Paulovic (fifth round/2013) registered four points (one goal, three assists) in three regular season games for Muskegon of the United States Hockey League. Paulovic has 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 24 games.
