Here’s an update on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, college and Europe.
*D John Klingberg (fifth round/2010) recorded three points (one goal, two assists) in two games for Frolunda of the Swedish Hockey League last week. Klingberg finished the regular season with 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists) in 50 games, ranking fifth among all SHL defensemen in scoring. He was tied for seventh among all players in power play goals (9) and tied for 10th in power play points (18), and he ranked 10th in the league in average ice time per game at 21:47. Up next for Klingberg are the SHL playoffs.
*G Philippe Desrosiers (second round/2013) ran his winning streak to 13 games over the past week by winning all three of his starts for Rimouski of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Two of those victories came over league-leading Baie-Comeau, which Rimouski trails by two points for the best overall record in the league. Desrosiers is 30-13-7 with a 2.66 goals against average, .907 save percentage and five shutouts. He ranks fourth in the league in GAA, seventh in save percentage and is tied for fourth in both wins and shutouts.
*C/LW Gemel Smith (fourth round/2012) registered six points (three goals, three assists) in three games for London of the Ontario Hockey League. Smith has 73 points (36 goals, 37 assists) in 66 games with both London and Owen Sound this season and is tied for 14th in goal scoring in the OHL.
*RW Cody Payne (trade acquisition/2013) scored four goals in three games played for Saginaw of the OHL over the past week. Payne has 25 goals in 54 games, ranking second on the team.
*LW Nick Paul (fourth round/2013) scored three goals and assisted on another in three games for North Bay of the OHL. Paul has 46 points (26 goals, 20 assists) in 65 games and ranks third on the Battalion in scoring.
*LW Remi Elie (second round/2013) had one goal and one assist in two games for Belleville of the OHL, giving him a team-high 58 points (26 goals, 32 assists) in 58 games.
*C/LW Jason Dickinson (first round/2013) recorded one assist in three games for Guelph of the OHL, giving him 72 points (24 goals, 48 assists) in 65 games. Dickinson ranks sixth in scoring on Guelph, the top offensive team in the league.
*C Radek Faksa (first round/2012) registered one assist in three games for Sudbury of the OHL over the past week. Faksa has 20 points (five goals, 15 assists) in 27 games since being acquired by Sudbury in January.
*D Troy Vance (fifth round/2011) recorded four assists in three games for Charlottetown of the QMJHL, giving him 13 points (four goals, nine assists) over his last 14 games. For the season, he has 27 points (seven goals, 20 assists) in 56 games.
*G Maxime Lagace (free agent/2012) lost his only start for Sherbrooke of the QMJHL this past week, stopping 33 of 35 shots in a 2-1 loss to Drummondville. Lagace, who has lost his last seven decisions, is 6-13-4 with a 3.79 goals against average and .887 save percentage.
*D Dmitry Sinitsyn (seventh round/2012) had no points in three games for Regina of the Western Hockey League over the past week. Sinitsyn has 42 points (8 goals, 34 assists) in 62 games.
*RW Branden Troock (fifth round/2012) recorded two assists in three games for Seattle of the WHL, giving him 55 points (22 goals, 33 assists) in 55 games.
*LW Cole Ully (fifth round/2013) picked up two assists in three games for Kamloops of the WHL over the past week. Ully leads Kamloops in scoring with 68 points (29 goals, 39 assists) in 66 games.
*C Mike Winther (second round/2012) remains out for Calgary of the WHL with a lower body injury and is listed as day to day.
*LW Matej Paulovic (fifth round/2013) registered two goals and one assist in two games for Muskegon of the United States Hockey League. Paulovic has nine points (four goals, five assists) in 19 games since joining the Lumberjacks in late December.
*LW Alex Guptill (third round/2010) recorded two assists in two games for the University of Michigan over the weekend. Guptill, a junior, has 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists) in 28 games.
*C/LW Devin Shore (second round/2012) scored a goal in Maine’s 2-0 win over Merrimack over the weekend. Shore, a sophomore, leads Maine in scoring with 41 points (14 goals, 27 assists) in 33 games. Shore ranks 12th in the nation in scoring at 1.24 points per game.
*D Ludwig Bystrom (second round/2012) had no points in in two games for Farjestad of the Swedish Hockey League last week. Bystrom finished the regular season with 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 51 games, ranking second in scoring among junior defensemen playing in the SHL. He ranked third among junior defensemen in the league in average ice time at 15:21 per game. The SHL playoffs are next for Bystrom.
*D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) had no points in one regular season game for Rogle in Sweden’s second highest league. Hansson finished the regular season with 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) in 47 games and tied for fourth in scoring among junior defensemen in the league. Rogle has begun postseason play, registering one assist in two games.
*LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) did not play last week for Rogle in Sweden’s second highest league due to injury, but he is now healthy and available.
*D Esa Lindell (third round/2012) had no points in two games for Jokerit in Finland’s top league. Lindell has five points (two goals, three assists) in 42 games.
*D Aleksi Makela (seventh round/2013) had no points in two games for Ilves in Finland’s top league. Makela has no points in nine games since starting to play in the top league recently.
*G Henri Kiviaho (fifth round/2012) lost his only start last week, stopping 22 of 24 shots in KalPa’s 2-1 loss to TPS in Finland’s top league. Kiviaho is 1-10-0 with a 3.03 goals against average and .878 save percentage while backstopping the last place team in Finland’s top league.
