Here’s an update on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, college and Europe.
*G Philippe Desrosiers (second round/2013) continues his impressive run with Rimouski of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Desrosiers won his tenth straight game Saturday, stopping 38 of 40 shots in a 5-2 victory over Rouyn-Noranda. Over the last ten games, Desrosiers has a 1.05 goals against average and .963 save percentage. He ranks fourth in the league with a 2.66 goals against average and is tied for second with five shutouts.
On Sunday, Desrosiers was named the QMJHL’s first star for February after posting a 9-0-0 record, 0.94 goals against average and .965 save percentage. Desrosiers set a league record when he posted a 243:35 shutout streak from Feb. 7-19.
*D Dmitry Sinitsyn (seventh round/2012) recorded two goals and two assists in Regina’s 7-3 victory over Moose Jaw in the Western Hockey League on Saturday. Sinitsyn has registered 21 points (5 goals, 16 assists) and a plus-15 rating over his last 16 games. He now has 42 points (8 goals, 34 assists) in 62 games and ranks third in scoring among rookie defensemen in the WHL.
*C/LW Jason Dickinson (first round/2013) picked up six points (three goals, three assists) in four games for Guelph of the Ontario hockey League over the past week. Dickinson has 71 points (24 goals, 47 assists) in 62 games this season.
*C Radek Faksa (first round/2012) had two points (one goal, one assist) in four games over the past week with Sudbury of the OHL. Faksa has 19 points (5 goals, 14 assists) in 24 games since being acquired by Sudbury in January.
*LW Nick Paul (fourth round/2013) registered three points (one goal, two assists) in three games for North Bay of the OHL over the past week. Paul has 42 points (23 goals, 19 assists) in 62 games.
*C/LW Gemel Smith (fourth round/2012) did not score in three games with London of the OHL. Smith is tied for 16th in the OHL with 33 goals in 63 games.
*RW Cody Payne (trade acquisition/2013) did not score in two games for Saginaw of the OHL. Payne has 21 goals in 51 games this season.
*RW Branden Troock (fifth round/2012) scored one goal in three games for Seattle of the WHL over the past week. Troock ranks third on Seattle in scoring with 53 points (22 goals, 31 assists) in 52 games.
*LW Cole Ully (fifth round/2013) picked up one assist in three games for Kamloops of the WHL. Ully leads the Blazers in scoring with 66 points (29 goals, 37 assists) in 63 games.
*C Mike Winther (second round/2012) remains out with a lower body injury. Calgary of the WHL has Winther listed as day to day.
*LW Matej Paulovic (fifth round/2013) had no points in two games for Muskegon of the United States Hockey League.
*LW Alex Guptill (third round/2010) picked up two goals and one assist in two games for the University of Michigan this weekend. Guptill, a junior, has 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 26 games.
*C/LW Devin Shore (second round/2012) registered one assist in two games for the University of Maine over the weekend. Shore has 40 points (13 goals, 27 assists) in 32 games this season and ranks 11th in the nation in scoring at 1.25 points per game.
*D John Klingberg (fifth round/2010) registered two assists in three games for Frolunda of the Swedish Hockey League over the past week. Klingberg has 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists) in 48 games and ranks seventh in scoring among SHL defensemen.
*D Ludwig Bystrom (second round/2012) scored his third goal of the season for Farjestad of the Swedish Hockey League. Bystrom has 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) in 49 games and ranks second in scoring among junior defensemen playing in the SHL.
*D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) had no points in three games for Rogle in Sweden’s second highest league. Hansson has 13 points (2 goals, 11 assists) in 46 games. Hansson ranks third in scoring among junior defensemen playing in the league.
*LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) did not play last week for Rogle due to injury. He’s expected to return within the week.
*D Esa Lindell (third round/2012) scored his second goal of the season for Jokerit in Finland’s top league. Lindell has 5 points (2 goals, 3 assists) in 40 games this season.
*D Aleksi Makela (seventh round/2013) had no points in two games for Ilves in Finland’s top league. Since beginning play in the top league in late January, Makela has no points in seven games.
*G Henri Kiviaho (fifth round/2012) lost both his starts last week for KalPa in Finland’s top league. Kiviaho is 1-9-0 this season with a 3.13 goals against average and .875 save percentage for last-place KalPa.
