Here’s an update on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, college and Europe.
*G Philippe Desrosiers (second round/2013) set a new Quebec Major Junior Hockey League record last week, posting a 243:35 shutout streak. Desrosiers broke the previous record when he recorded a 31-save shutout last Monday to push his streak to 213:15. That marked the fourth straight game, including three starts, in which Desrosiers hadn’t allowed a goal. He extended the shutout streak to 243:35 on Wednesday, before finally allowing a goal at 10:20 of the second period.
Desrosiers has now won his last seven decisions, posting a 0.92 goals against average, .967 save percentage and three shutouts during that stretch. He is 24-13-7 this season with a 2.76 goals against average, .901 save percentage and five shutouts. He ranks fifth in the league in GAA and is tied for first in shutouts.
*C/LW Gemel Smith (fourth round/2012) registered five points (three goals, two assists) in four games for London of the Ontario Hockey League over the past week. Smith has 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) over the last 15 games. He has 67 points (33 goals, 34 assists) in 60 games for both London and Owen Sound this season.
*LW Remi Elie (second round/2013) picked up six points (three goals, three assists) in four games for Belleville of the OHL. Elie, who has 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) over his last 15 games, leads the Bulls in scoring with 56 points (25 goals, 31 assists) in 52 games.
*C Radek Faksa (first round/2012) recorded three points (one goal, two assists) in three games for Sudbury of the OHL. Faksa has 17 points (four goals, 13 assists) in 20 games since being acquired by Sudbury in January.
*C Jason Dickinson (first round/2013) scored one goal and assisted on two others in three games for Guelph of the OHL, giving him 13 points (four goals, nine assists) over his last eight games. For the season, Dickinson has 65 points (21 goals, 44 assists) in 58 games.
*RW Cody Payne (trade acquisition/2013) registered three points (one goal, two assists) in three games for Saginaw of the OHL. Payne has scored 21 goals in 49 games this season.
*LW Nick Paul (fourth round/2013) had no points in three games for North Bay of the OHL. Paul is tied for second on North Bay in scoring with 39 points (22 goals, 17 assists) in 59 games.
*D Dmitry Sinitsyn (seventh round/2012) picked up six points (two goals, four assists) in four games over the past week for Regina of the Western Hockey League. Sinitsyn has tallied 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) over his last 13 games and ranks fourth in scoring among rookie defensemen in the WHL with 36 points (six goals, 30 assists) in 60 games.
*LW Cole Ully (fifth round/2013) recorded three points (one goal, two assists) in three games for Kamloops of the WHL. Ully leads the Blazers in goals (29), assists (36) and points (65) in 60 games played this season.
*RW Branden Troock (fifth round/2012) registered one assist in two games for Seattle of the WHL. Troock ranks third on Seattle in scoring with 52 points (21 goals, 31 assists) in 49 games.
*C Mike Winther (second round/2012) remains out for Calgary of the WHL with a lower body injury. He is listed as day to day.
*D Troy Vance (fifth round/2011) recorded two assists in three games for Charlottetown of the QMJHL over the past week. Vance has points in six of his last eight games, registering seven points (three goals, four assists) during that stretch.
G Maxime Lagace (free agent/2012) played in two games last week, going 0-1-0 and allowing 10 goals in 90 minutes played. Lagace is 6-12-3 with a 3.96 goals against average and .882 save percentage this season.
*LW Matej Paulovic (fifth round/2013) played one game for Muskegon of the United States Hockey League, registering no points. Paulovic has six points (two goals, four assists) in 15 games with Muskegon.
*LW/C Devin Shore (second round/2012) registered four points (one goal, three assists) in two games for the University of Maine over the weekend. Shore, a sophomore, leads Maine in scoring with 39 points (13 goals, 26 assists) in 30 games. He ranks ninth nationally in scoring at 1.30 points per game.
*LW Alex Guptill (third round/2010) had one goal and one assist in the University of Michigan’s 5-4 overtime loss to Penn State Friday night. Guptill was a scratch against Penn State on Saturday night. Guptill has 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists) in 24 games this season.
*Both the Swedish Hockey League and the top league in Finland were on break last week. As a result, D John Klingberg (fifth round/2010), D Ludwig Bystrom (second round/2012), D Esa Lindell (third round/2012) and G Henri Kiviaho (fifth round/2012) did not see any action.
*LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) registered four points (one goal, three assists) in three games for Rogle in Sweden’s second highest league. Molin has 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) in 21 games for Rogle.
*D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) had no points in three games for Rogle in Sweden’s second highest league. Hansson has 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) in 43 games for Rogle.
*D Aleksi Makela (seventh round/2013) played one game in Finnish juniors, scoring one goal. Makela has 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) in 25 games with Ilves in Finland’s top junior league this season.
