Goaltender Colton Point hasn't played a lot this season, but he's been getting the net more in recent weeks for Colgate University, and he's playing well. Point stopped 39 of 40 shots Saturday as the Red Raiders battled No. 17 St. Lawrence to a 1-1 tie.
Point, a freshman, has stopped 99 of 103 shots in his past four appearances for Colgate and now has a 2.29 goals-against average and .922 save percentage in nine games played this season. The fifth-round pick (128th overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft has allowed two goals or fewer in his past four appearances.
After playing just five of the first 24 games this season, Point has played four of the past eight and is starting to get some regular playing time in Colgate's goaltending rotation.

\D Joseph Cecconi (5th round/2015) scored his first career NCAA goal over the weekend, tallying at even strength in the University of Michigan's 6-4 loss to No. 20 Wisconsin on Saturday. There was not much of a celebration from Cecconi, a defensive defenseman.
"I'm not a big goal scorer," Cecconi told Michigan Daily. "If I score, when I do score, I'm not going to go down and do the nice celebration like some of the forwards do. I've been there before, like any other hockey player, so I was excited. It was awesome to get the first one.
"(The puck) is in my bag right now. I think I'll probably give it to my dad when I get home, or my grandpa or something like that."
Cecconi, a sophomore, has six points (one goal, five assists) in 26 games for the Wolverines.
