It took 17 games, but Stars forward prospect Riley Tufte finally scored his first collegiate goal over the weekend.
Tufte, a freshman, tallied Minnesota Duluth's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to St. Cloud State Friday, going to the net and hammering home a rebound in the third period. That first goal came a week after Tufte picked up his first collegiate point last week with an assist.
Tufte, Dallas' first-round pick (25th overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft, has two points (one goal, one assist) in 18 games this season. He missed the first four games of the season due to a broken wrist suffered at the U.S. National Junior Evaluation in August. He's had his ups and downs this season as he's made the jump from high school to college but has come on recently. His eight shots on goal in his two games over the weekend matched his total for the previous nine games.
