Here’s an update on Dallas Stars prospects still playing postseason hockey in juniors and Europe.
*G Philippe Desrosiers (second round/2013) continues to shine in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoffs. Desrosiers stopped 67 of 69 shots as Rimouski won the first two games of its second round series against Blainville-Boisbriand. He stopped 27 of 29 shots as Rimouski took game one, 4-2, on Thursday and then pitched a 40-save shutout as Rimouski won game two, 3-0, on Friday. Desrosiers is 6-0 in the playoffs and leads the QMJHL playoffs with a 1.06 goals against average and .957 save percentage. His two shutouts are tops in the playoffs as well.
*C/LW Gemel Smith (fourth round/2012) and C/LW Jason Dickinson (first round/2013) are going head-to-head in round two of the Ontario Hockey League playoffs. Dickinson registered three assists as Guelph defeated Smith’s London Knights, 6-4, in game one of the series. Smith had two assists in the game. Neither player scored in game two, which London won, 7-2. Dickinson has 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in seven playoff games for Guelph. Smith has nine points (two goals, seven assists) in six games for London.
*LW Nick Paul (fourth round/2013) scored the game-winning goal as North Bay defeated Niagara, 2-1, in the seventh game of their first round OHL playoff series. Paul has no points in the first two games of North Bay’s second round series against Barrie. North Bay is up 2-0 in the series. Paul has five goals in nine playoff games.
*RW Branden Troock (fifth round/2012) had one assist in two games for Seattle in its second round series against Kelowna in the Western Hockey League. Kelowna leads the series 2-0. Troock has six points (four goals, two assists) in seven playoff games.
*D Ludwig Bystrom (second round/2012) had no points in two games for Farjestad in its second playoff series in the Swedish Hockey League. Farjestad leads Vaxjo, 2-1 in the best-of-seven series. Bystrom has no points in five playoff games.
*LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) registered one assist in two games for Rogle in the Swedish Hockey League qualification round-robin series. Molin has seven points (three goals, four assists) in nine games during the series, which ends this week. He has nine points (three goals, six assists) in 13 postseason games.
*D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) recorded two assists in two games for Rogle in the SHL qualification series. Hansson has seven points (one goal, six assists) in nine games in the series. Hansson has 10 points (one goal, nine assists) in 15 postseason games.
*LW Matej Paulovic (fifth round/2013) is still playing regular season hockey for Muskegon of the United States Hockey League. He had no points in two games and has 16 points (6 goals, 10 assists) in 29 games for the Lumberjacks.
