Defenseman Aaron Rome will be back in the lineup tonight as the Dallas Stars take on the Minnesota Wild at American Airlines Center.
Rome, who has missed the last 13 games with a broken foot, will add some veteran presence to the blue line as the Stars try to stay in the top eight of the Western Conference.
“He’s a veteran guy,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “The young guys came out and had a real good start in this league because the young guys had been playing in the American Hockey League. But now that we are at the 30-game mark, you can see the guys that have played 3-5 years or above in the NHL are starting to get in their stride. It’s becoming a different league, it’s picking up and it’s good to have Romer here with that experience. To have a big, strong body with experience at this time of year is going to prove valuable to us.”
Rome is expected to be paired with Philip Larsen in tonight’s game. Jordie Benn will be the scratch on defense.
