Modano Joins Texans Credit Union

by Dallas Stars Staff / Dallas Stars

Texans Credit Union and Dallas Stars center Mike Modano have entered into a five year marketing agreement.  A Stanley Cup Champion and the NHL’s all-time American born leader in points and goals, Modano will serve as Texans’ spokesperson and partner in annual promotions, charitable fundraising campaigns, and community and children’s programs.  Additionally, Texans has been named title sponsor of MikeModano.com.

“I’m very excited to form a partnership with such a well respected local organization like Texans Credit Union.   With their commitment to our community and local sports teams it was a natural fit for both of us,” said Modano.

“I hope I can help them create awareness about their products and show people how easy it is to become a member. Together we’ll be able to do a lot of good for local charities including my Foundation which benefits disadvantaged children in the area,” Modano added.

“Texans Credit Union is thrilled to form this relationship.  Mike exhibits the personal traits that personify Texans. He is a successful, hard working man dedicated to Dallas. Texans Credit Union is proud to be associated with him, and we look forward to maintaining this partnership in the years ahead,” said Matt Davis, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Texans Credit Union.

According to Davis, only 40% of the Dallas sports fans surveyed know that they can be a member of Texans; most fans believe to be a member that they have to be employees of a particular company when the reality is you only have to live, work or attend school in the Dallas area to be a member.

“We hope to change the current perception with Mike’s help,” said Davis.

Texans Credit Union is a Texas-based, member-owned, non-profit financial cooperative with branches throughout North Texas, Austin and Houston.  Texans provides financial products and services to 160,000 members and has assets approaching $2 billion.
