It’s 100 degrees outside. Where else would someone rather be than an ice rink?
For several Dallas Stars players, it already is hockey season. With Training Camp less than a month away, the players have been hitting the ice on select weekday mornings to work out, break in new skates, and simply get in better shape for the NHL season.
“It’s good to be back and see some of the guys, “said Stars captain Brenden Morrow. “It’s been a good summer but a long one and I think all of us are excited to get back out there and play some hockey. And with the heat outside, the rink is a great place to be.”
Morrow has been joined by Stephane Robidas, Mike RIbeiro and Kari Lehtonen, among others, with more joining the daily skate every day.
“The kids are back in school and it’s almost time to get back to work,” said Robidas. “We’re all looking forward to the season. We feel that we have a good team and we want to get back to the playoffs. It won’t be long before camp is here. I know I am ready to start playing some hockey.”
Stars Training Camp begins on Friday, Sept. 17, with the first four days being held in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
