FOOD DRIVE TO BE HELD THURSDAY AT DALLAS STARS
PRE-SEASON HOME GAME FOR VICTIMS OF HURRICANE IKE
All Fans that Bring Canned Food Items Will Get Free Pre-Season Tickets
FRISCO, Tex. – The Dallas Stars, the North Texas Food Bank and American Airlines Center, in conjunction with News/Talk 820 WBAP, will hold a Food Drive for victims of Hurricane Ike this Thursday, September 25, prior to the Stars’ first pre-season home game vs. Colorado.
The Food Drive will be held from 5 PM until 8 PM at American Airlines Center, as non-perishable canned food will be collected. There will be four donation spots set up, one on each side of the building’s main entrances. The North Texas Food Bank will coordinate the distribution of the food to help those affected by Hurricane Ike.
Every fan who donates canned food items will receive a voucher for a pair of free tickets to any 2008 Dallas Stars pre-season home game, redeemable at the American Airlines Center box office. Monetary Donations Also Being Accepted
The Dallas Stars Foundation will be also be accepting monetary donations from fans to donate toward the Southeast Texas Chapters of the American Red Cross (Galveston and other areas affected by Ike) at all four of the team’s home pre-season games. Donations can be made at the Community Relations Table on the Northwest corner of American Airlines Center Plaza Concourse (main level).
