Frisco, Tex. – The Dallas Stars announced today that the club has activated defenseman Mark Fistric
from injured reserve. He suffered a head injury against Atlanta on Dec. 17 and was placed on injured reserve the following day.
Fistric, 23, has missed five games since injuring his head against the Thrashers. He has skated in 30 games so far this season, collecting four points (1g, 3a) and a +6 rating. The 6-3, 234-pound defenseman has played in 103 career NHL games over the past three seasons, accruing 80 penalty minutes and a +8 rating. Fistric was Dallas’ first round selection (28th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
The Dallas Stars will face the Anaheim Ducks at American Airlines Center tonight for the Stars’ 12th annual New Year’s Eve home game (7:00 pm, TV: FOX Sports Southwest, Radio: Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket).
