DALLAS STARS ASSIGN JOHN ERSKINE TO IOWA FOR CONDITIONING
FRISCO, Tex. -- Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has assigned defenseman John Erskine for conditioning to the Iowa Stars, the Stars' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Erskine, 25, has appeared in 14 games with Dallas this season, going scoreless with 45 penalty minutes. He also played in five preseason games in 2005 with the Stars, posting one assist and 13 penalty minutes.
The 6-4, 219-pound defenseman has appeared in 95 career games with the Stars, recording two goals and two assists for four points with 220 penalty minutes.
The Stars' second round selection (39th overall) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft played the entire 2004-05 season in the AHL, collecting three goals and seven assists for 10 points with 238 penalty minutes in 61 contests.
Dallas (16-7-1, 33 points) will host the Carolina Hurricanes (16-7-1, 33 points) tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. (CST - FSN) at American Airlines Center.
