Enroth in goal, Nichushkin and Nemeth back in tonight against Anaheim

by Mark Stepneski / Dallas Stars

Jhonas Enroth is expected to make his third straight start as the Dallas Stars wrap up a three-game road trip in Anaheim tonight. Enroth has won his past two starts, stopping 56 of 60 shots.

There will be some lineup changes among the forwards and defensemen. Stars coach Lindy Ruff said forward Valeri Nichushkin and defenseman Patrik Nemeth both will be back in tonight. Nichushkin was a scratch Monday in San Jose. Nemeth has been a scratch the past two games.

“My plan for Val is to get him some quality ice time. I’d like to get him involved in our second power play and see where he is at,” Ruff said. “I don’t think he went that well in Nashville. There was some fatigue in his game. He should be fresh and I want to see what he looks like. With Nemeth, he sat out a couple and I want to see how he responds.”

Tonight’s game is the next to last one of the season for the Stars. They have won two straight and are 12-5-0 in their past 17. Ruff wants the team to maintain good habits as it closes out the season.

“I am just hammering home that I want the guys to play the game the right way,” Ruff said. “Stay away from the big mistakes that have hurt us and play the game the right way. That’s the only point I have been trying to hammer home.”

Ducks watch

Frederik Andersen is expected to get the start in goal tonight for the Ducks. Anaheim captain Ryan Getzlaf did not skate this morning and it is unclear if he is playing tonight. Anaheim can clinch the top seed in the Western Conference tonight with a victory in regulation or overtime.
