The face of the Stars franchise will be the target in the Crazy Water Dunking Booth at a charity event this weekend, benefitting the Mike Modano Foundation. The event will take place from 2-6 p.m. this Sunday at the Whole Foods Market in Plano (2201 Preston Rd.). Modano will be signing autographs for those in attendance, and will “take the plunge” into the dunking booth from 4:30 through 6 p.m.
“I’m definitely looking forward to this event on Sunday and it should be a lot of fun,” said Modano. “It’s obviously for a worthy cause that is near and dear to my heart, one that I never pass up an opportunity to support. Also, we’ll get to see just what kind of arm strength and accuracy the fans of Dallas have!”
While Modano’s only appearance will be Sunday at the Plano location, the Crazy Water dunking booth will also be getting people wet all weekend at Whole Foods Market locations (also Friday, 3-8 p.m., 2118 Abrams, Lakewood; and Saturday, 2-6 p.m., 60 Dal Rich Village, Richardson).
All proceeds from the weekend-long event benefit the Mike Modano Foundation, whose mission is to raise funds to help improve the quality of life for at-risk Metroplex children who have been abused, abandoned or neglected. The Foundation also provides funding for other organizations whose purpose is to provide assistance and education geared toward ending the cycle of abuse, and proudly operates the Mike Modano Infant and Toddler Cottage at Jonathon’s Place.
In addition to this Dunking Booth event on Sunday, the Mike Modano Foundation will host the Seventh Annual Reebok Heroes Celebrity Baseball Game on Saturday, June 28 at the Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster (214-373-8000), at www.Ticketmaster.com
