FRISCO, Texas -- The Dallas Stars announced today details for the club's Noche Mexicana celebration on Wednesday, March 2 against the Los Angeles Kings.

"Noche Mexicana will pay tribute to the vibrant Mexican-American culture that is part of the rich diversity in the Lone Star State," Dallas Stars President and CEO Brad Alberts said. "Our team is proud to be part of the Mexican-American community that makes North Texas such a special place to live. We are in a unique position to introduce and grow a sport that can provide so many people a lifetime of enjoyment, whether as a passionate fan or lacing up skates on the ice with friends and family."
Noche Mexicana will include numerous special features both pre-game at Party on PNC Plaza and in-arena with performances by Monica Saldivar and Mexico 2000 Ballet Folklorico.
Saldivar, a native of Grand Prairie, Texas and one of the hottest up-and-coming vocalists in the Tejano genre, was named "Best New Female Artist" at the 2020 Tejano Music Awards and winner of the Austin-based singing competition "Tejano Idol" in 2015. Mexico 2000 Ballet Folkorico was started in 1997 with the necessity to offer quality dance programs for the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex audience and has been performing for many cultural and private events, presenting more than 800 performances in the last 15 years.
Tortas Insurgente, an authentic Mexican Antojitos restaurant, will be serving a custom Dallas Stars quesadilla in honor of Noche Mexicana at Party on PNC Plaza.
During pregame warmup, the entire Stars team will wear one-of-a-kind jerseys with the colors of the Mexican flag that will be auctioned off through the Dallas Stars Foundation. Proceeds collected from the warmup jersey auction and the Dallas Stars Foundation 50/50 Raffle presented by Jim Ross Law Group will benefit Mi Escuelita Preschool and The Concilio.
The first 5,000 fans in attendance will also receive a Lucha Libre mask, courtesy of Germania Insurance. The design of the mask takes inspiration from traditional luchadores in Mexican free-wrestling lore.
