The Texas Stars came into this past weekend riding a three-game winning streak, but the nice run came to an end with regulation losses to Chicago and San Jose at H-E-B Center in Cedar Park.
The Stars, who hit the road for two games in California this week, are now 4-3-2 on the season.
Forwards Denis Gurianov and Roope Hintz both had productive weekends for Texas with Gurianov picking up three points (one goal, two assists) and tying a franchise record by scoring a goal in a sixth straight game on Friday, and Hintz tallying one goal and two assists in Friday's game.

Friday, October 27: Chicago 4, Texas 3

Roope Hintz tallied one goal and two assists and Denis Gurianov recorded one goal and one assist, but the Texas Stars had a three-game winning streak end with a 4-3 loss to Chicago Friday night in Cedar Park. Texas had 1-0 and 3-2 leads in the game, but the Wolves rallied with two goals in just over four minutes in the second period to take the lead for good. Michael Mersch had one goal and one assist for the Stars. Landon Bow stopped 27 of 31 shots.

Saturday, October 28: San Jose 6, Texas 1

Michael Mersch staked Texas to a 1-0 lead 1:17 into the game, deflecting a Denis Gurianov shot into the net, but San Jose responded with six unanswered goals and defeated the Stars, 6-1, Saturday at H-E-B Center. Gurianov's assist on the Mersch goal extended his points streak to seven games. Colton Point got the start in goal and was pulled late in the second after allowing five goals on 16 shots. Landon Bow played the rest of the way and stopped nine of 10 shots.

Idaho Steelheads

The Idaho Steelheads, Dallas' ECHL affiliate, went 1-1-0 last week and are 3-3-1 on the season. Stars goaltending prospect Philippe Desrosiers started both games, stopping 57 of 62 shots. Desrosiers is 2-2-1 with a 2.52 goals against average and .920 save percentage. Dallas defense prospect Ondrej Vala was assigned from Idaho to Texas of the AHL over the weekend.
