Stars sign forward Ty Dellandrea to a one-year contract

FRISCO, Texas-- Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed forward Ty Dellandreato a one-year contract, which will run through the 2023-24 season. The one-year deal is worth $900,000.

"Ty's become one of our most dependable two-way forwards," said Nill. "His versatility allows him to play up and down the lineup, and he proved in the playoffs his ability to take his game to another level. He's a heart-and-soul type of player, and we're happy to have him under contract for the upcoming season."

Dellandrea, 22, appeared in all 82 games for the Stars in 2022-23, posting nine goals, 28 points (9-19-28) and a +9 rating. He led all Stars forwards in hits (125) and total shorthanded time on ice (166:32) and ranked second in shorthanded TOI/GP (2:02). Dellandrea added three goals (3-0-3) in 15 games in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, including a two-goal performance (2-0-2) in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final vs. Vegas. The night marked the first multi-goal game of his NHL career.

A native of Port Perry, Ontario, Dellandrea has played 109 regular-season NHL games over parts of three seasons, posting 33 points (12-21-33) and a +8 rating. He's also recorded 59 points (27-32-59) in 87 regular-season contests with the Texas Stars, Dallas' development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound forward was originally selected by Dallas in the first round (13th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft.
