FRISCO, Texas-- Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed forward Evgenii Dadonov to a two-year contract extension through the 2024-25 season. The two-year deal is worth $4.5 million and has an average annual value (AAV) of $2.25 million.

Dadonov, 34, registered 33 points (7-26-33) in 73 games with Dallas and Montreal during the 2022-23 regular season. Acquired from the Canadiens on Feb. 26, Dadonov posted 15 points (3-12-15) in 23 regular-season contests with the Stars.

"Re-signing Evgenii was high on our priority list," said Nill. "He was a key player for us down the stretch, and he elevated his game on the big stage during the playoffs. We're happy to get a deal done that works for both sides."

Dadonov went on to appear in 16 of Dallas' 19 Stanley Cup Playoff games, recording 10 points (4-6-10) and a +5 rating before missing the final three games due to a lower-body injury. Two of his three goals in Dallas' First Round series vs. Minnesota came in Game 2, which also represented the first two goals of his postseason career. Dadonov had points (1-3-4) in three consecutive contests during the club's Second Round series vs. Seattle (Games 2-4) and had the primary assist on Dallas' game-winning goal in Game 7 against the Kraken.

A native of Chelyabinsk, Russia, Dadonov has amassed 298 points (131-167-298) in 486 regular-season contests over nine NHL seasons with Dallas, Montreal, Vegas, Ottawa and Florida. He's also made two separate appearances in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, earning 11 points (4-7-11) in 20 games with Dallas and Florida.

The 5-foot-11, 189-pound forward was originally selected by Florida in the third round (71st overall) of the 2007 NHL Draft.
