Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that forward Branden Troock has been signed to a three-year, entry-level contract. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Troock, 20, just concluded his fourth season with the Seattle Thunderbirds in the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he ranked third on the team during the regular season with 58 points (24-34=58) in 58 games with the club. He was also tied for the team lead with four goals in nine games during the WHL playoffs this year and was tied for second among all Thunderbirds with seven postseason points (4-3=7). In total, the 6-foot-3, 195-pound forward posted 101 regular season points (45-56=101) in 144 career games with Seattle.
The native of Edmonton, Alberta was selected by Dallas in the fifth round (134th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft.
