Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has recalled left wing Curtis McKenzie and right wing Brett Ritchie from the Texas Stars, Dallas' top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
McKenzie, 25, appeared in three games for Dallas this season and did not register a point. In 61 games with Texas, he finished second on the team with 55 points (24-31=55) and led the team with 120 penalty minutes. In four Calder Cup Playoff games, he posted two points (1-1=2) and eight penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound native of Golden, British Columbia was selected by Dallas in the sixth round (159th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft.
Ritchie, 22, split the season between Dallas and Texas. With Dallas, he posted one assist and seven penalty minutes in eight games. In 35 regular season games for Texas, he finished with 28 points (14-14=28) and 26 penalty minutes. In four Calder Cup Playoff games, he posted two points (1-1=2) and finished second on the team with 13 shots on net.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound native of Orangeville, Ontario was selected by Dallas in the second round (44th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
