Stars recall left wing Curtis McKenzie from Texas

The 26-year-old has recorded six goals and five assists in 12 games for Dallas' AHL affiliate this season

Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has recalled left wing Curtis McKenzie from the Texas Stars, Dallas' top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

McKenzie, 26, has recorded 11 points (6-5=11) in 12 games played for Texas this season. His six goals are tied for the team lead and tied for 10th in the AHL, and he is second on Texas in points. In his last game for Texas on Nov. 8 at San Diego, he recorded his second career AHL hat trick and had a career-best five points (3-2=5).

In parts of three seasons with Dallas, he has 21 points (10-11=21) and 120 penalty minutes in 92 regular-season games played. Last season, he set career bests with 16 points (6-10=16), 72 penalty minutes and a +5 plus/minus rating in 53 games played.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound native of Golden, British Columbia was originally selected by Dallas in the sixth round (159th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft.
