Stars goaltending prospect Colton Point came up big over the weekend, allowing just two goals in three games as Colgate University won its best-of-three series over RPI in the ECAC Tournament.

Point tossed a 23-save shutout in the third and deciding game as the Raiders won 2-0 Sunday to advance to the quarterfinals of the conference tournament. It was Point's sixth shutout of the season, tying a school record.

"He's the real deal," Colgate coach Don Vaughan told reporters about Point. "He wasn't overworked tonight. We did a really good job of containing them, but when they did have opportunities, he tracked the puck as well as he always does. It was another great shutout, but I'm sure he'd be the first to say that the defense in front of him played pretty solid. I'm glad we have him, and someone else doesn't."

Point stopped 26 of 27 shots as Colgate took the series opener 3-1n on Friday and he turned away 25 of 26 shots in a 1-0 loss on Saturday. He made 74 saves on 76 shots in the three-game series.

Point, a fifth-round pick (128th overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft, is 15-10-5 on the season and ranks second in the nation in goals against average (1.62) and first in save percentage (.948). His six shutouts are tied for third.

Colgate takes on 10th-ranked Clarkson in the ECAC quarterfinals next week.
