Dallas Stars Prospect Report: April 1

Here are some notes on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, college and the European leagues.

*RW Brett Ritchie (second round/2011) had four points (one goal, three assists) in four games as Niagara lost its first round Ontario Hockey League playoff series to Oshawa, 4-1. Ritchie missed one game of the series due to the flu. Ritchie, whose OHL season is over, is expected to join the Texas Stars soon.

*C Radek Faksa (first round/2012) had five points (three goals, two assists) in five games as Kitchener won its first round OHL playoff series against Guelph. Faksa scored a goal in each of the last three games of the series. Kitchener plays London in round two of the playoffs.

*C Gemel Smith (fourth round/2012) registered six goals and two assists in six games as Owen Sound won its first round OHL playoff series over Sault Ste. Marie. Smith’s six goals are tied for the OHL playoff lead. Owen Sound plays Plymouth in round two of the playoffs.

*RW Matej Stransky (sixth round/2011) had no points in four games as Saskatoon was swept in its first round Western Hockey League playoff series by Medicine Hat. Saskatoon will play on though since it is the host team of the Memorial Cup.
