Dallas Stars Place Steve Ott On Injured Reserve; Recall Aaron Gagnon From AHL Texas Stars

Frisco, Tex. -- The Dallas Stars announced today that the club has placed center Steve Ott on Injured Reserve, retroactive to October 11. The club also announced that center Aaron Gagnon has been recalled from the Texas Stars, Dallas’ primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Ott, 27, suffered an oblique injury during the first period of Sunday’s game at Vancouver and missed Wednesday’s game against Nashville. He has skated in four games for the Stars this season, recording one assist and nine penalty minutes (PIM). Ott has played 341 NHL games, all with Dallas, collecting 40 goals and 74 assists for the club.

Gagnon, 23, has played in five games for the Texas Stars in 2009-10, recording one goal and eight penalty minutes. He collected 19 points (8g, 11a) in 61 games last season for Grand Rapids of the AHL last season. Gagnon skated in two games for Dallas in the preseason this year but has not yet made his NHL debut. He was signed as a free agent by Dallas on Feb. 7, 2007.

The Stars will play the Boston Bruins tonight at American Airlines Center at 7:30 (CST). The game will be televised locally on Fox Sports Southwest and can be heard on Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket.
