Dallas Stars place forward Brett Ritchie on injured reserve

The 24-year-old has registered two points in 12 games this season

Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has placed forward Brett Ritchie on Injured Reserve, retroactive to Oct. 30.

Ritchie, 24, has registered two points (1-1=2) in 12 games this season. He currently ranks second on the Stars and leads team forwards with 33 hits. During the 2016-17 campaign, the forward recorded 24 points (16-8=24) in his first full season in the NHL and paced the club with a +11 plus/minus rating. Ritchie ranked fourth on the team with 16 goals and shared eighth on the club with two game-winning goals. In parts of four NHL seasons, all with the Stars, he has registered 36 points (23-13=36) in 129 regular season contests. 

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound native of Orangeville, Ont. was originally selected by Dallas in the second round (44th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
