FRISCO, Texas -- Injuries are almost inevitable in the playoffs, and on Tuesday the number of Stars on that list included Tyler Seguin.
The veteran forward revealed in his exit interview that he fractured his foot in Game 1 of the first round against the Calgary Flames but managed to play through it in the six games that followed. He finished the series with two goals and four points and averaged the second-most time on ice per game among forwards (19:51) behind Joe Pavelski (19:57).

The injury won't require surgery, but it was the latest obstacle the 30-year-old has endured after a lengthy recovery from hip and knee surgeries over past few years. He played in all but one of the 82 games during the regular season, the first time he's played that many since three consecutive 82-game runs from 2016-19. He finished the season ranked fourth in goals (24) and points (49).
"It was a tough year for him coming out of the injuries," Stars GM Jim Nill said. "I thought he got better as the year went on. This is going to be a big summer for him. He needs to bounce back. He's a big part of our core. We need him back to normal where he was."
Had the Stars advanced past the first round, they likely wouldn't have had Luke Glendening in the lineup - at least not in the second round. Nill said on Tuesday that Glendening experienced concussion symptoms after taking a hit from Flames defenseman Nikita Zadorov in Game 6. He also twisted his knee when he fell, and Nill said the 33-year-old would've been out multiple weeks.
"He probably would've been out 2-4 weeks," Nill said. "I don't think he would've made it back. He was banged up. He also had a bad groin. He's a banged-up body, but he's a real warrior."
Glendening finished the series ranked tied for fifth on the team in hits (13). He was one of four Stars to skate in all 82 regular-season games.
"Right now, no major surgeries for any of the players*.
