"We are not only thrilled, but grateful to be a part of the Dallas Stars Military Appreciation Night recognizing the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces," said Co-Founder, President and COO of OneSource Virtual Wesley Bryan
. "Our military personnel make countless, selfless contributions day-in and day-out, and are happy to let those contributions fly under the radar, unnoticed simply as a job well done. The recognition we give them, as well as to the strength and dedication of their families, could not be more highly deserved."
The pre-game Party on AT&T Plaza, beginning at 5 p.m., will feature military displays in addition to Stars inflatables and live music from the Hard Rock Cafe Dallas stage. Additionally, the first 15,000 fans will receive complimentary Dallas Stars camouflage caps courtesy of Dr Pepper. Military personnel will participate in one-of-a-kind game experiences throughout the evening including visiting penalty boxes during warmups, cheering on the Stars outside the locker as they take the ice after intermissions and opportunities post-game to meet Stars players. Throughout the entire evening, the Stars organization will recognize military members and their families who are in attendance on the videoboard.
Prior to the game, Marcus Luttrell, former United States Navy SEAL and author of the best-selling book Lone Survivor, will participate in the ceremonial puck drop. Luttrell, who earned a Navy Cross and Purple Heart during Operation Iraqi Freedom, established the Lone Survivor Foundation in 2010, dedicated to honoring and remembering American service members by providing unique educational, rehabilitation, recovery, and wellness opportunities to U.S. Armed Forces members and their families.
