It was a tough night any way you slice it for the Stars.
After giving the Florida Panthers everything they could handle last week in Dallas, the Stars were on the wrong end of a 7-1 blowout Friday night at FLA Live Arena.

The Stars found themselves down 2-0 just eight minutes into the game and gave up four more in the second period. The lopsided loss put a damper on all the good Dallas has done recently, especially since coming out of its extended break.
Jake Oettinger started the game but didn't finish. The 22-year-old netminder was pulled after giving up four goals on 17 shots and was replaced by veteran goaltender Anton Khudobin six minutes into the second period. This marked Khudobin's first appearance with the Stars since Nov. 18 at Minnesota.
Roope Hintz broke the shutout and got the Stars on the board at the 1:06 mark of the third period with his 15th goal of the season, placing him in a tie with Joe Pavelski for the team lead. It gave the high-flying Finn five points (three goals, two assists) in his past four games and nine points (four goals, five assists) over his past seven.

The night marked Jamie Benn's 900th career regular season game, all with the Stars. Benn became the third player in franchise history to reach 900 games with the team and the 74th player selected in the fifth round or later in NHL history to skate in as many.
Two separate point streaks unfortunately came to an end on Friday.
Pavelski, who on Wednesday vs. Seattle set a career high with five points, saw his seven-game point streak snapped, while Jason Robertson's eight-game run also ended.
Sam Bennett had a hat trick for the Panthers, while Gustav Forsling, Anthony Duclair, Carter Verhaeghe and Jonathan Huberdeau also lit the lamp. Sergei Bobrovsky improved to 18-3-3.
The Stars will close out their back-to-back on Saturday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
