Anton Khudobin will get the start in goal and Denis Gurianov will be in the lineup tonight as the Dallas Stars try to snap a three-game losing streak when they take on the Colorado Avalanche at Pepsi Center in Denver.
Khudobin, who will be making his second straight start, stopped 21 of 24 shots in Thursday's 3-2 loss at San Jose. He was in net on Nov. 24 when the Stars lost, 3-2, at Colorado and made 33 saves on 36 shots.
"Gut feeling," Stars coach Jim Montgomery said of the decision to go with Khudobin tonight. "He played really well here last time, so that's all it is."

Gurianov, called up from the AHL on Friday, is expected to play right wing on a line with center Martin Hanzal and left wing Devin Shore. This is the second call-up for Gurianov, who scored one goal in two games with Dallas back in November.
"Speed and the ability to score from the top circles and everywhere else," Montgomery said of the Gurianov. "Looking forward to watching him add something to our lineup."
The 21-year-old Gurianov has been on a roll with the Texas Stars, tallying 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) in his last seven games. He is tied for fifth in the AHL in scoring with 28 points (nine goals, 19 assists) in 23 games.
"I just tried to play my best in the AHL and tried to help my team win," Gurianov said. "I will try to do the same thing here."

Stars ramping up for divisional play

Montgomery is juggling some of his other forward lines. The top line of Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin, and Alexander Radulov stays intact. Jason Spezza is expected to center Mattias Janmark and Valeri Nichushkin. Radek Faksa will center Jason Dickinson and Blake Comeau. Tyler Pitlick and Brett Ritchie are the expected scratches. Pitlick, who has scored one goal in his last eleven games and has three in 30 games, will be scratched for the second time this season.
"I liked the way Tyler played last game, but we are looking for more offense," Montgomery said. "He hasn't been that offensive lately and just making a change."
On defense, Gavin Bayreuther will come back into the lineup after being a healthy scratch Thursday in San Jose. Montgomery wanted to give Bayreuther, who had a rough game Wednesday in Anaheim, a chance to reset.
"It was good for me. I needed that," Bayreuther said. "When you don't have your best nights, you end up sitting in the stands. I am excited for tonight, have a new me and I am just going to play my game."
The defense pairs for tonight are expected to be Esa Lindell-Julius Honka, Miro Heiskanen-Roman Polak, Bayreuther-Taylor Fedun. Joel Hanley will be the scratch on defense.
The Stars (16-13-3) are closing out a four-game road trip tonight in Denver. They are 0-3-0 in the first three games and enter today three points out of a playoff spot. The Stars have played only four games within the Central Division so far this season, but starting tonight they'll see a lot more of their division foes, playing three of the next four and four of the next six against the Central.
"We're really aware of our Central Division games, but Calgary (Tuesday in Dallas) is going to be a tough game too," Montgomery said. "They are all important right now when we're fighting to get into the playoffs."

Opposition watch: Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche (17-9-6) played Friday night in St. Louis, falling 4-3 in overtime. J.T. Compher scored on the power play to tie the game 3-3 with 6:50 remaining in regulation, but Blues forward Ryan O'Reilly scored on a shorthanded breakaway 2:05 into the extra period to hand the Avalanche their third straight loss and fourth in the past five games (1-3-1).
Philipp Grubauer got the start in goal last night for the Avalanche, so Semyon Varlamov is the expected starter tonight.
