The Dallas Stars announced today that center Toby Petersen and left wing Francis Wathier have been assigned to the Texas Stars, Dallas' development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Petersen, 34, concluded his 13th season in professional hockey, spending a majority of the 2012-13 campaign with Texas. The 5-foot-10, 195-pound forward skated in 74 games with Texas last season, earning 24 points (8-16=24) and six penalty minutes. The native of Minneapolis, Minnesota has played 398 career NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars, posting 81 points (33-48=81) and 50 penalty minutes. Petersen was Pittsburgh's ninth-round selection (244th overall) in the 1998 NHL Draft.
Wathier, 28, earned 20 points (4-16=20) in 2012-13 for Texas and posted 77 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound forward has skated in 10 career NHL games and has spent his entire eight seasons in professional hockey with the Stars organization. The St. Isidore, Ontario native was Dallas' sixth-round selection (185th overall) in the 2003 NHL Draft.
