Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nillannounced today the team's roster for opening night, which consists of 23 players: 13 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders. Additionally the club has loaned left wing Curtis McKenzie to the Texas Stars, Dallas' top development affiliate in the American Hockey League, and defenseman Patrik Nemethwas claimed off waivers by the Colorado Avalanche.

For the seventh consecutive season, the Stars will open their season at American Airlines Center as the team plays host to the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
For the first time ever, the Dallas Stars team will take part in the KIA Victory Green Carpet Walk through Victory Plaza as part of the team's 25th Anniversary in Texas. The current roster, coaches, front office and Stars dignitaries will walk the carpet beginning at 4:00 p.m. and fans will have the opportunity to welcome them into the arena. In honor of the 25th Anniversary Celebration, Stars Day One Season Ticket Holders that have been with the organization continuously since the 1993-94 season will also have the opportunity to walk down the KIA Victory Green carpet beginning at 6:00 p.m.
