by Dallas Stars Staff / Dallas Stars

Dallas Stars President and CEO Jim Lites, in conjunction with FOX Sports Southwest, announced today that play-by-play announcer Ralph Strangis (@RalphStrangis) and color analyst Daryl Reaugh (@Razor5Hole) have each been signed to contract extensions. Per club policy, terms of each deal were not disclosed.

"Ralph Strangis and Daryl Reaugh are a broadcasting institution in this city," said Lites. "For nearly two decades, they have been consistently identified as one of the top broadcast pairs in the NHL, providing Stars fans with sharp, insightful descriptions of the game on the ice. They have also been tremendous ambassadors for our sport in North Texas off the ice - we couldn't be happier that they will continue to be Dallas Stars."

Strangis is in his 24th season with the team dating back to the club's days in Minnesota. He has served mostly as the team's play-by-play broadcaster for television and radio and has been the voice of the team for every major moment since they moved to Texas.

"To be able to spend most of my broadcasting career with one team and call nearly every significant moment has been tremendous," said Strangis. "I'm excited to be a part of what Tom Gaglardi and Jim Nill are building here."

During his career, the Minneapolis, Minnesota native has also worked on a national stage, serving as a broadcaster for ESPN, Fox Sports, NHL Radio and the Westwood One Radio Network.

Reaugh is in his 18th season as color analyst on television and radio for the Dallas Stars. Showcasing his talents to a national audience, Reaugh has frequently served as a color commentator for nationally televised hockey games on NBC Sports Network. In the past, he has also done work for ABC, FOX, ESPN and CBC's Hockey Night in Canada.

"We have a broadcast team full of experienced and talented professionals who are regarded within our business as being the best at what they do and I'm honored and humbled to be a part of that team," said Reaugh. "This organization has been given every tool to succeed by owner Tom Gaglardi and with the exciting, young core of players that Jim Nill and his staff has assembled, it is going to be a pleasure to cover this team in the coming years."

Well known for his strong on-air work, Reaugh has also provided color analysis for EA Sports' NHL '98 and NHL '99 video games. Prior to joining the Stars in 1996, he was an analyst for the Hartford Whalers on SportsChannel New England's telecasts.

As a player, Reaugh's career included stints in the NHL with both the Edmonton Oilers and the Hartford Whalers. Prior to turning pro, he was an all-star goaltender for the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League and was named to their 25th Anniversary Team.

The duo's on-air work together has earned them multiple accolades over their tenure with the Stars, including six Lone Star Emmys, a Dallas Press Club Katie and four Associated Press awards. In addition to their work on the telecast, the pair has emceed several of the team's pinnacle events such as the Stars logo and uniform unveiling, as well as the Mike Modano Jersey Retirement Ceremony.

Their work for each game can always be heard on Sportsradio 1310 AM/96.7 FM The Ticket.
