FRISCO, Texas -- The Dallas Stars announced today the creation of the Dallas Stars Hall of Fame, which will recognize players and/or staff members who have positively impacted the Dallas Stars franchise in such a way where their contributions cannot be overlooked.

The two categories of the Dallas Stars Hall of Fame are Player (Skater/Goaltender) and Builder (Executive Level Staff or Coach). A maximum of one Player and one Builder are eligible for selection in any election period and there is no requirement that the maximum of either category is reached in any given election period.
"After numerous conversations with fans, alumni members and others in the hockey community, it was apparent that the Stars needed to find a way to honor and recognize those individuals who are integral parts of our history," Dallas Stars President and CEO Brad Alberts said. "The Dallas Stars Hall of Fame enshrinement will become an annual event that will allow our Victory Club Members and fans to celebrate those who have meant so much to the Dallas Stars over our three decades in the Lone Star State."
An official announcement of the 2022 Dallas Stars Hall of Fame Class will be made in August 2022. Elected individual(s) will be officially inducted during the team's inaugural Hall of Fame Weekend in Fall 2022. The team will be creating a Dallas Stars Hall of Fame at American Airlines Center, located in the AT&T Rotunda, that will enshrine and honor those inducted from each Hall of Fame class.
The basic criteria for any individual to be considered for nomination includes:
Player Category
Builder Category
Any player who currently has their number retired by the Dallas Stars Hockey Club receives immediate inclusion into the Dallas Stars Hall of Fame without consideration by the Selection Committee. Official induction into the Dallas Stars Hall of Fame will occur the year following their jersey retirement ceremony. Additionally, all owners of the Dallas Stars Hockey Club receive automatic induction as Builders without consideration by the Selection Committee.
In addition, a Fan Nomination will also be included into the Nomination pool. This will be conducted electronically by the team in advance of the June meeting and included into the entire pool of nominations to be considered by the Selection Committee.
