Stars add Mike Modano to Reunion Nights at American Airlines Center

The Dallas Stars announced today that Hockey Hall of Fame Honored Member Mike Modano will be returning to Dallas as part of the club's Reunion Nights at American Airlines Center for Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday, March 31 vs. the Minnesota Wild.
Celebrating the club's 25th Anniversary in Dallas, the team has welcomed home Stars legends during the 2017-18 campaign such asBrett Hull, Guy Carbonneau, Shane Churla, Brenden Morrow, Todd Harvey, Bill Guerin, Marty Turco and Ed Belfour.

Modano will participate in the ceremonial puck drop prior to the game and will be signing autographs for the first 100 fans at Eighteen 76 bar during the first intermission.

The Livonia, Michigan native is the all-time leading American-born scorer, amassing 561 goals, 813 assists, totaling 1,374 points in 1,499 career NHL games. Aside from his impressive career stats, he is the Dallas Stars franchise leader in nearly every statistical category, including games played (1,459), goals (557), assists (802), points (1,359), game-winning goals (92), power play goals (156), and short handed tallies (29). He is also the franchise leader in playoff games played (174), goals (56), assists (87), and overall points (143). The seven-time NHL All-Star, and 2012 United States Hockey Hall of Game inductee helped lead the Dallas Stars to two consecutive Stanley Cup Final appearances, and helped the club capture the 1999 Stanley Cup.
Selected by the Minnesota North Stars as the first overall pick in 1988, Modano announced his retirement from the NHL after 21 seasons on Sept. 23, 2011. The Dallas Stars permanently retired his iconic No. 9 at a ceremony at American Airlines Center on March 8, 2014.
