FRISCO, Texas --Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has acquired goaltender Scott Wedgewood from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a conditional fourth-round selection in the 2023 NHL Draft. If the Stars qualify for the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, then the selection turns into Dallas' third-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Wedgewood, 29, has appeared in 29 NHL contests during the 2021-22 campaign with Arizona and New Jersey. In total, he has earned a 10-14-3 record with a .909 save percentage and a 3.16 goals against average. With Arizona this season, he appeared in 26 games and earned a 10-12-2 record, a .911 SV% and a 3.16 GAA.

The native of Brampton, Ont. has appeared in 69 career NHL contests with New Jersey and Arizona, posting a 20-32-11 record, a .905 SV%, a 3.11 GAA and four shutouts. Originally selected by New Jersey in the third round (84th overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft, Wedgewood was claimed off waivers by Arizona on Nov. 4, 2021.
