Dallas Recalls Brandon Segal from Texas Stars

Frisco, Tex. – The Dallas Stars announced today that the club has recalled right wing Brandon Segal from the Texas Stars, Dallas’ primary affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL), after he cleared re-entry waivers this morning.

Segal, 27, has skated in 36 games for Dallas this season, collecting nine points (4g, 5a) and 34 penalty minutes. He has played in 30 games for Texas in 2010-11, posting 17 points (7g, 10a) and 38 penalty minutes. The Richmond, BC, native accrued 10 points (5g, 5a) in 19 games last season with Dallas after being claimed off waivers from Los Angeles on Feb. 11, 2010. The 6-2, 209-pound right wing has appeared in 82 NHL games, tallying 21 points (10g, 11a) and 72 penalty minutes.

The Dallas Stars will host the Chicago Blackhawks tonight at 7:30 pm at American Airlines Center (TV: Fox Sports Southwest, Radio: Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket).
