The Dallas Stars announced today that goaltender Alex Auld
has cleared NHL waivers and has been assigned to the Texas Stars, Dallas’ primary minor league affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Auld, 29, has played in 21 games for Dallas this season, posting a 9-6-3 record with a 3.00 GAA and a .894 save percentage. The 6-4, 214-pound goaltender has appeared in 204 career NHL games, going 83-81-28 with six shutouts. He went 6-1-0 in his last seven home starts and won back-to-back starts four times this season. Auld was acquired via trade with Ottawa July 8, 2009 for a sixth round pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
The Dallas Stars will return to action against the Los Angeles Kings on Mar. 2 at American Airlines Center (7:30 pm, TV: My27, Radio: Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket).
